For the third time during the 2018-19 basketball season, East Central Community College sophomore guard Roti Ware has been voted the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Men’s Basketball Player of the Week.

Ware earned the most recent honor for his play the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3 when the Warriors broke a five-game losing streak with an 84-81 win over Southwest Mississippi Community College before falling to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College 72-65.

The product of Morton High School also was the MACJC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 12-18 and for Nov. 19-25.

In the win over Southwest, the 6-foot-3 Ware scored 31 points and pulled down 10 rebounds. He followed that up with 27 points and 12 rebounds in the loss to Gulf Coast. He also had seven assists and three steals for the week.

For the season, Ware is averaging nearly 22 points and seven rebounds a game, while shooting 92 percent from the free throw line. Last week he hit 15 of 17 free throws in the two games.
