The East Central Community College basketball teams closed out 2017 with a sweep of teams from Coastal Alabama Community College Monday, Dec. 11, in Brackeen-Wood Gym in Decatur.

The Lady Warriors defeated Coastal Alabama-North 68-54 in the opening game.

ECCC was led by three players in double figures, including sophomore guard Autumn Taylor and freshman guard Tan Lloyd, both of Newton, with 12 each, and freshman guard Tamirra Haskin of Laurel with 11. Taylor also had nine rebounds, seven assists, and four steals in the win.

The East Central women remained undefeated at 8-0. Coastal Alabama-South out of Monroeville, Ala., fell to 0-11.

The Warriors won their fifth straight game with a 95-74 win over Coastal Alabama-South. Sophomore guard Jaquan Dotson out of Neshoba Central paced ECCC with 18 points, while freshman guard Roti Ware from Morton had 14. Freshman forward Kamara Warren Jr. (Lancaster, Calif.) came of the bench to score 13 points and pull down eight rebounds, and sophomore guard Cayman Ruffin from Neshoba Central also came off the bench to score 12 points.

East Central improved to 6-3, while the visitors from Bay Minette, Ala., fell to 4-5.

The East Central teams are off for the next month before hosting East Mississippi Community College on Tuesday, Jan. 9, 2017. Tipoffs from Brackeen-Wood Gym in Decatur are 5:30 p.m. for the women and 7:30 p.m. for the men.
