The East Central Community College golf team had a top-five finish in their home event of the 2021-22 season. The East Central Spring Invitational was played on the Azalea course at the Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, a premier facility in Mississippi. The event, which served as the fifth conference event of the season, featured an all-MACCC lineup made up of nine teams. 

Meridian Community College won the event with a two-day total of 580, 11 strokes better than the second-place Mississippi Gulf Coast Bulldogs, while Northeast finished in third after carding a 602.

River Maskew led the Warriors with a 12th-place finish as an individual. Maskew finished the first round with a blistering two over par, 74, and a second-round 77 for a 151 total. Gage Miller finished with a 158 after posting rounds of 80 and 78. Bryce Denley carded a 79, 85, 164 total, while Davis Pool shot an 85, 87, 172. Lee Hill shot a 96 on the first round and bounced back with an 85 on the second for a 181. 

Meridian's Noah Bumgarner was the medalist as he carded rounds of 73 and 67 for a 140 total. 

The Warriors are back in action on Monday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 22 at Northwood Golf Club in Meridian for the next MACCC event.
