The East Central Community College golfers moved up one spot on the second day of play to finish in fourth place at the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Event No. 4 held March 5-6 at Northwood Country Club in Meridian.

As a team, the Warriors shot a 49-over par 617 over the two-day, 36-hole event.

Sophomore Bailey Threlkeld led East Central with a tie for 14th. The product of Choctawatchee High School in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., shot a nine-over par 151 for the 36 holes. Also scoring for East Central was sophomore David Barry of West Jones, who finished tied for 19th with a 12-over par 154; freshman Jacob Hamner (Vanderbilt Catholic, Houma, La.), who tied for 21st with a 13-over par 155; freshman Nathan Davis of Newton County, who finished 23rd with a 15-over par 157; freshman Jacob School of Madison Central, who finished tied for 29th with a 19-over par 161; freshman Noah Nance of Hurley, who finished 42nd with a 31-over par 173; and freshman Jacob Jenkins of Madison Central, who finished 47th with a 44-over par 186.

The Warriors will next compete in MACJC Event No. 5 March 24-25 at Ackia Golf Club in Amory.

East Central will host the MACJC Conference/State Tournament April 12-13 at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club in Choctaw.
