The East Central Community College golf team traveled to Saucier Oct. 17-18 to compete in the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Event No. 4 and district preview of the fall season, hosted by Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

East Central finished in 16th place in the competition, posting a team score of 647 over the 36-hole event.

Posting the top score for ECCC was freshman David Barry of West Jones High School, who finished tied for 31st with a 155. Other Warrior golfers included freshman Bailey Threlkeld of Choctawhatchee High School (Shalimar, Fla.), who tied for 60th with a 162; sophomore Seth McCormick of Newton County Academy, who tied for 68th with a 164; and freshman Noah Parnell of Vancleave High School, who shot a 172 and finished tied for 90th place.

The Warriors will begin the spring season March 6-7 at the Meridian Community College Invitational to be held at the Northwood Country Club in Meridian.
