East Central Community College held its Fall Commencement ceremony December 10, 2021, in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus.
James Miller, dean of students, presented the candidates for graduation, and ECCC President Dr. Brent Gregory awarded degrees and certificates during the ceremony.
Graduates included more than 200 students who completed degree requirements following the summer or fall terms.
Graduating sophomores who participated in the ceremony included Molly Ellen Moore of Meridian and a graduate of Northeast Lauderdale High School, who gave the commencement address; Sage Amie Love of Collinsville and a graduate of Kemper County High School, who gave the invocation; and Thomas Rish Alford of Houston and a graduate of Houston High School, who gave the benediction. Presenting the musical selection “Homeward Bound” were Malachi Beasley of Walnut Grove and a graduate of Sebastopol High School, Jaedyn Jefferson of Flowood and a graduate of Northwest Rankin High School, and Rachel Jennings of Lena and a graduate of Morton High School.
During her address, Moore, who received the Associate of Arts degree, said, “The faculty and staff of East Central truly care for every student and this college and it definitely shows. East Central has given me some of the best memories of my life and also some of my forever best friends. … The love I have for this school and the people here goes beyond measures and I am truly blessed to forever be an East Central Warrior.”
