For the second time this season, East Central Community College kicking specialist Robens Beauplan has been selected the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Special Teams Player of the Week. The most reason honor comes after the Warriors upset No. 15 Copiah-Lincoln 23-18 last Thursday in Wesson.
The freshman from Riverdale High School in Lehigh Acres, Fla., handles the punting, extra points, and field goals for East Central.
In the win over Co-Lin, Beauplan made three of his four field goal attempts from 30, 20, and 27 yards. He made both extra points. He also punted four times for a 57-yard average, including a long of 67 yards and one punt downed inside the 20.
For the season, Beauplan is a perfect 14-of-14 in extra points, 6-of-8 in field goals, and averaging nearly 42 yards per punt.
No. 19 ranked East Central hosts No. 1 Gulf Coast Thursday, Oct. 10, in Bailey Stadium in Decatur. Kickoff is 6:30 p.m.
