East Central Community College used goals six minutes apart but in different periods of the match to defeat Jones County Junior College 2-0 on the road in Ellisville Friday, Sept. 22.

The win snapped a three-match losing streak for the Warriors.

A 44th minute first half goal by sophomore Cory Furlow of Clinton and a 50th minute second half goal by sophomore Tanner Lindsey of Northwest Rankin was all the scoring ECCC would need in the shutout win.

Dylan Shoemaker out of Forest got the win in goal.

East Central’s record improves to 4-4-1. Jones County falls to 3-5-1.

ECCC continues on the road with a non-division match before getting back into MACJC North Division play. The Warriors and Lady Warriors travel to Poplarville Monday, Sept. 25, to face Pearl River at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m., before returning home to host Meridian Community College on Friday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Bailey Stadium in Decatur.
