The East Central Community College SkillsUSA Chapter is participating in a service project to raise money for the Wounded Warrior Project.

Club members will host a Wounded Warrior Project® Carry Forward™ Virtual 5K run/walk on Nov. 12 at noon beginning at the Smith Student Union Building on the Decatur campus.

As stated on the Wounded Warrior web page, “Veterans carry the hopes and dreams of our nation on their shoulders. They always have. Wounded Warrior Project® Carry Forward™, delivered by CSX®, is a new 5K fitness challenge and fundraiser that unites us for one day for one purpose: to honor and support wounded warriors and their families. They carried us. We all Carry Forward.”

According to sponsor Harold “Boo” Hollingsworth, “Anyone interested in participating in the 5K is welcome to register and join our squad and show support to our veterans.  Those who cannot join the run/walk but still want to show support, can make donations.  ECCC SkillsUSA chapter goal is $500, but we would love to exceed that.”

Visit https://carryforward.woundedwarriorproject.org/index.cfm?fuseaction=donorDrive.teamParticipants&teamID=5709 to register under the ECCC SkillsUSA squad for the 5K or to make a donation.
