New this year at East Central Community College in Decatur is early registration for the Summer 2020 Term. Students who would like to take classes this summer can register for those now.

The schedule of courses is located online at www.eccc.edu under the Academics tab. While current students are not required to be cleared for registration for summer, they are encouraged to meet with their advisors.

“This is a great opportunity for current students who might need to catch up or for university students who are home for the summer and might need to pick up one or more classes,” said Dr. Teresa Mackey, ECCC vice president for instruction.

Financial aid is available for the summer term and there are several summer work-study positions available for qualifying students.

In addition to opening registration early, East Central will also open two dormitories this summer on a first-come, first-served basis for students enrolled in summer school on the Decatur campus. The cost is $200 per student per summer semester.

The June session runs from June 1 through June 25. The last day to register is June 2. Courses include Principles of Biology II with lab, General Biology I with lab, General Biology II with lab, Anatomy & Physiology I with lab, Anatomy & Physiology II with lab, General Chemistry I with lab, Family Dynamics & Community Involvement, American History I, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Phyiscal Science Survey I with lab, and General Physics I with lab.

The July session begins July 6 and ends July 30. The last day to register is July 7. Courses include Principles of Biology I with lab (non-major), Anatomy & Physiology II with lab, General Chemistry II with lab, Creative Arts for Young Children, Intermediate English, English Composition I, English Composition II, Baseball Theory, American History II, Warrior Path To Success, College Study Skills, Intermediate Algebra, College Algebra, Music Appreciation, Physical Science Survey II with lab, and General Physics II with lab.

Courses are also offered at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career & Technical Center and include English Composition I during the June term and English Composition II and College Algebra during the July term.

East Central also offers various online courses during the summer. Online courses begin June 1 and end July 23. The last day to register is June 2. See the online schedule for a complete listing of online courses.
