Several East Central Community College trustees were recognized for their years of service during the annual Mississippi Association of Community College Trustees Conference held June 1-3, 2026, in Biloxi, Miss.

ECCC honorees included Pete Lucovich for five years of service, Pat Cleveland for 20 years of service, Delane Hudson for 30 years of service, and Edsel Cliburn for 35 years of service. The recognition was part of the conference’s Years of Service Recognition program, honoring trustees from community colleges across Mississippi for their commitment to service and leadership.

The annual MACCT Conference brings together community college trustees, presidents, and leaders from across the state to discuss issues impacting Mississippi’s community colleges, including workforce development, legislative priorities, institutional leadership, student success, and the continued role of community colleges in moving Mississippi forward.

Conference sessions included updates from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges, the Mississippi Community College Board, and the Mississippi Community College Foundation, as well as presentations focused on workforce initiatives, scholarship opportunities, and the legacy and impact of Mississippi’s community colleges.

East Central Community College President Dr. Brent Gregory also participated in the conference program, providing closing remarks for the 2026 conference.

“We are grateful for the dedication of our Board of Trustees and their continued commitment to East Central Community College,” Gregory said. “Their leadership and years of service represent a strong investment in our students, our communities, and the future of community college education in Mississippi.”

The Mississippi Association of Community College Trustees supports and promotes the work of community college trustees throughout the state while providing opportunities for professional development, collaboration, and advocacy on behalf of Mississippi’s community colleges.
