After Pensacola State tied the game with single runs in each of the first two innings, the Warriors regained the lead 3-2 on an RBI single from freshman left fielder Branson Sharpley (Taylorsville) in the top of the third. The Pirates went ahead 5-3 in the bottom of the frame before exploding for seven runs in the bottom of the fourth to move in front 12-3.
