The East Central Community College Warriors will host the Itawamba Community College Indians in a National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 baseball best-of-three playoff series May 10-11 at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.

Game one will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 10. Game two is slated for 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 11. Game three, if necessary, will begin immediately following game two on Friday.

Admission each day is $7 per person. Those age 12 and under will be admitted free. ECCC faculty, staff, and students will be admitted free with a valid college ID. MACJC passes will be accepted.

All NJCAA Region 23 games in Decatur can be heard on WKOZ Cruisin 98.3 radio or via audio stream and live stream video at www.eccc.edu/eccc-media.

It will be the ninth straight year East Central has competed in the postseason. The Warriors finished the regular season 30-16 overall and 17-11 in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges league play. The Itawamba Indians are 30-14 overall and 16-12 in the league.

The Warriors swept Itawamba in Fulton in April by scores of 6-5 and 11-4.

East Central is the No. 5 seed in the NJCAA Region 23 playoffs, while Itawamba is the No. 6 seed.

Pearl River Community College was crowned the 2018 MACJC State Champion for having the best overall league record during the regular season and has earned the top seed in the double-elimination NJCAA Region 23 Tournament May 16-20 at LSU-Eunice in Eunice, La.

The next eight teams in the MACJC standings are facing off in best-of-three NJCAA Region 23 playoff series May 10-11 to determine which four join Pearl River and LSU-Eunice in the Region 23 Tournament.

Other best-of-three series include No. 2 seed Jones County Junior College hosting No. 9 seed Hinds Community College, No. 3 seed Meridian Community College hosting No. 8 seed Northeast Mississippi Community College, and No. 4 seed Northwest Mississippi Community College hosting No. 7 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.
