Despite a double-double performance by Curtisha Coleman of Wayne County High School, the Lady Warriors fell 96-74 against the No. 21 nationally ranked Jones County Lady Bobcats Thursday, Jan. 26, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium in Decatur.

Coleman led all scorers with a career–high of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Also, in double-digit scoring were Autumn Taylor of Newton High School with 17 points, Shantavis Hughes of Hattiesburg High School with 11 and Bryona Stewart of Itawamba Agricultural High School with 10 points.

ECCC kept the game close finishing the first quarter only down by four.

The Lady Warriors trailed 48-29 at the intermission, but in the second half Jones ran away with the lead.

ECCC moves to 3-3 in the MACJC south division and 9-6 on the season.

The East Central women’s basketball team will travel to Utica to face the Hinds Community College Lady Eagles Monday, Jan. 30., tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
