New East Central Community College women’s basketball coach LaTaryl Williams will hold a tryout from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 21, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur.
The tryout is open to players who will graduate from high school in 2018, or have already graduated but have not already played two years of college sports. Anyone who is not a 2018 high school graduate will need to bring a copy of a recent physical in order to participate.
The cost is $10 per person, and players should bring their own basketball shoes.
A former standout for the Ole Miss Rebels who played professionally in Europe, Williams took over the ECCC women’s program this month after having served as an assistant the past six years for the Holmes Community College Lady Bulldogs.
