The East Central Community College women’s soccer team finished regular season play on a high note with a 6-0 win over Hinds Community College Wednesday, Oct. 19, at the Soccer Complex on the Decatur campus.

Sophomore Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School began the scoring for ECCC off an assist by TaNissa McNair of Forest High School.

Defender Gabby Gross of Lewisburg High School added another first half score for East Central.

In the second half, Sierra Maness of Corinth High School scored off an assist by Eleanor Jones of New South Wales, Australia. Maness quickly added another score a few minutes later for ECCC to go up 4-0.

Freshman Ashley Langham of Florence High School scored off a header to extend the lead.

The final score for East Central was from sophomore Kayla Young of Center Hill High School off another assist by McNair.

East Central finishes regular season action 12-3 on the season and 6-2 in the MACJC North Division.

ECCC finished second in the division and will host Pearl River Community College in the first round of the playoffs Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Bailey Stadium in Decatur. The match is set for 5 p.m.
