The East Central Community College women’s soccer team moved to 11-2 on the season and 5-1 in the North Division with an 8-0 victory over the Northwest Mississippi Community College Lady Rangers Friday, Oct. 7, at the ECCC Soccer Complex.

Sophomore forward Kenzie Jenkins of McLaurin High School began the scoring for East Central in the first half, with an assist by TaNissa McNair of Forest High School.

Also scoring in the first half for East Central were McNair, Aubree Patterson of Richland High School, Kaitlynn Summerlin of Florence High School and Kayla Young of Center Hill High School off an assist by Summerlin.

East Central led 5-0 at the half.

After halftime, Sierra Maness of Corinth High School scored her 15th goal of the season and set the college’s single season goals scored record previously held by Brooke White in 2008 with 14 goals.

Later in the second half, Cailee McClain of Starkville High School scored and McNair added another goal with 13 minutes left to play in the match.

Sophomores Jenkins, Kaitlyn Knuth of West Lauderdale High School and Gabby Gross of Lewisburg High School were selected to participate in the MACJC All-Star Game to be held at Freedom Ridge Park in Ridgeland Saturday, Nov. 12.

The East Central women’s soccer team will travel to Holmes Community College to face the Lady Bulldogs Friday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m.
