The East Central Community College Lady Warriors dropped to 1-6 on the year March 8 as the team fell to the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves, 64-54. The Lady Warriors will be back on the court tomorrow, Wednesday, March 10, as they host the Southwest Lady Bears in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium for a COVID-19 makeup game at 6 p.m.

Monday's nights game was tight through the first half as both teams mirrored performances with the Lady Wolves netting 13 in each quarter to the Lady Warriors' 12. The Lady Warriors led for most of the first quarter, but a quick start in the second put Co-Lin on top. At the break, Co-Lin had a two-point, 26-24, advantage.

The third quarter proved the biggest difference-maker in the game as the Lady Wolves came out and built a lead that they would not surrender for the remainder of the contest. The 21-point Co-Lin frame grew the lead and eventually secured the 64-54 win.

The Lady Warriors shot 39 percent from the floor and 42 percent from three-point range, making 8-of-19 attempts.

Three Lady Warriors in, Mer'Cades Miller (McComb), Ja'Lancia Kohlheim (Tupelo), and Mirial Cannon (Madison), led the way for ECCC with 11 points each. Wynter Taylor (Dallas, Texas) led the team in rebounds with five, while Sylvia Jones (Brighton, Tenn.) dished a team-best five assists and posted four steals.

Co-Lin's Aniya Sanders was the Lady Wolves leading scorer with 22 points on 8-of-14 shooting.
