Additional classes at four locations have been added to the fall semester offerings by the East Central Community College Workforce Development Center.

Classes offered on the Decatur campus include:

• Basic Excel–Begins Tuesday, Oct. 11, and meets from 5 to 8 p.m. for six consecutive Tuesday nights in the Bradford J. Tucker Applied Technology Building. Cost is $50 per person. In this Introduction to Microsoft Excel training class, students will create and edit basic worksheets and workbooks. This course is designed for students who want to gain the necessary skills to create, edit, format and print basic Microsoft Excel worksheets.

• Starting a Business-First Steps–Tuesday, Dec. 6, 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Offered by the college’s Small Business Development Center, the cost is free and Ronnie Westbrook, SBDC director, serves as instructor. The seminar outlines the basic steps to start a business. Topics include regulations such as licenses and permits, legal forms of business ownership, basic marketing concepts to help analyze the revenue potential, lending terminology, outline for a business plan and other resources to assist in starting a business.

Classes offered in Louisville include:

• Welding–Begins Tuesday, Oct. 11, and meets from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for three consecutive weeks at the Winston/Louisville Career-Technical Center. Cost is $150 per person and the instructor is Shane McDaniel. Only five spaces are available and previous welding experience is necessary. Classes will include GTAW “TIG” processes.

• Certified Nurse Aid (CNA)–Begins Tuesday, Oct. 11, and meets from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight consecutive weeks at the Louisville Career Advancement Center. Cost is $776 per person and includes everything but the TB Skin Test. The instructor is Alan Krajewski. The WorkKeys test will be given and you must score a Silver level to attend this class.

• Manufacturing Safety–Begins Monday, Oct. 24, and meets from 8 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday for two consecutive weeks at the Louisville Career Advancement Center. Cost is $25 per person.
