ECCC’s Madison Price and Katie Morrow Recognized as 2025 William Winter Scholars

February 24, 2025

East Central Community College faculty member Madison Price and student Katie Morrow will be recognized as the college’s 2025 William Winter Scholars at the 36th annual Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration. The event, hosted by Copiah-Lincoln Community College, will take place March 27-29 at the Natchez Convention Center.

Each year, participating institutions select a faculty member and student who have demonstrated excellence in the humanities to be honored as William Winter Scholars. Price, an instructor at ECCC, was named this year’s faculty scholar and selected Morrow as the student recipient.

This year’s NLCC theme, “Follow the Frenchman through Natchez: The Return Tour of Lafayette,” will highlight the 200th anniversary of Gilbert du Mortier, the Marquis de Lafayette’s farewell tour of the United States. In partnership with the Sons of the American Revolution, the event will serve as a historical conference celebrating Lafayette’s legacy and influence.

The NLCC is one of Mississippi’s most significant annual conferences dedicated to literature, history, film, and culture. Each year, it brings nationally recognized scholars and authors to Natchez to explore humanities-related topics in the American South.
