Sylvia Jones picked up Player of the Week honors after her stellar outing against Hinds in the first week of the season. The sophomore from Brighton, Tenn. played 27 minutes in the contest, a 71-60 ECCC victory, and netted 18 points. Jones was 6-of-12 from the floor for 50 percent on the night and knocked down six free throws in the ECCC win.
Jones is a sophomore guard for the Lady Warriors and finished last season averaging nearly nine points a game as she poured in 131 points in her freshman campaign. She also dished 46 rebounds, hauled in 37 rebounds, and posted 18 steals in the abbreviated 2020-2021 season.
The Lady Warriors are back on the road this weekend as the team travels to Niceville, Fla. to take on Denmark Technical College and the hosting school, Northwest Flordia State, in the Northwest Florida Classic. ECCC faces Denmark Tech on Friday, Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. and Northwest Florida on Saturday, Nov. 13, also at 4 p.m.
