Despite a career-high performance from Laneisha Jeans, the East Central Community College Lady Warriors fell 94-73 to the No. 16 nationally ranked Jones County Junior College Lady Bobcats Monday, Feb. 20, in Ellisville.

Jeans of Pine Forest (Fla.) High School led all scorers with a career–high of 25 points. Also, in double-digit scoring were Autumn Taylor of Newton High School with 17 points, six assists and four steals, and Curtisha Coleman of Wayne County High School with 15 points.

ECCC kept the game close in the first quarter and were down by only seven points. However, a big second quarter propelled Jones to a 51-27 lead by intermission.

ECCC dropped to 6-7 in the MACJC South Division and 12-10 overall on the season. 

The Lady Warriors will host Hinds Community College Thursday, Feb. 23, for “Sophomore Night” in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium in Decatur. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m.
