The Lady Warriors of East Central Community College dropped two games to the Pearl River Lady Wildcats on Wednesday night, March 3. The losses move ECCC to 3-9 on the season and to 2-2 in MACCC play. Pearl River improves to 11-3, 4-0. 

Game One | L, 5-3

A PRCC triple in the bottom of the second put the Lady Wildcats on top, 1-0, before they added another three in the bottom of the third with an RBI single and RBI double. The start put PRCC on top, 4-0. 

The Lady Warriors responded in the fourth with a pair of solo homers from Sidney Rone (Ethel) and Katelynn Gipson (Decatur). 

Rone did it again in the sixth with another solo shot to pull the game to just a one-run difference, 4-3. 

Pearl River led things off in the bottom of the frame with a leadoff homer to pull the game to the eventual final score, 5-3. 

Gracey Baucom took the loss for the Lady Warriors as she threw the entire game. Baucom allowed eight hits and five runs over six innings, striking out five. 

Hannah Embry picked up the win for Pearl River. She allowed five hits and three runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out ten and walking one.

Rone's pair of homers led the Lady Warriors as she also added a single in the contest. 

Game Two | L, 8-3

The nightcap had its share of excitement as the Lady Wildcats grabbed runs in the bottom of the first and second innings. 

Lizzy Hollingsworth (Decatur) led things off with a double in the third and scored on an error for the Lady Warriors' first run of the contest. Zharia Richardson (Gulfport) pushed across another later in the frame with a single before she scored on an RBI double from Mary Moore Widemire (Hattiesburg). The big, three-run inning put the Lady Warriors on top, 3-2. 

A solo shot from PRCC re-tied the game at 3-all before a couple of homers gave the Wildcats the 8-3 lead.

Braelyn Boykin (Mize) was in the circle for ECCC. The righty surrendered eight runs on 11 hits over six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Gipson posted a team-high two hits to lead the Lady Warriors at the plate.
