The East Central Community College Lady Warriors dropped a tough North Division home match to Itawamba on Friday afternoon, Oct. 15. The loss drops the Lady Warriors to 8-4 on the year and to 2-4 in division play. ICC improves to 4-7, 3-3 on the year.

The first half seemed to be going in Itawamba's favor early on as the Lady Indians picked up a goal 15 minutes into the match from Kristy MacGregor. Just seconds later, ICC chipped in another to grow the lead to 2-0. That lead grew to 3-0 with 16 minutes remaining in the half as ICC grabbed another chip-shot goal. The Lady Warriors continued to apply pressure on the Lady Indians throughout the half despite trailing. That never-give-in effort paid off with just over five to play as Gabby Falla (Hattiesburg) sent in a great ball to Kara Wager (Lucedale) from about 40-yards out. Wager settled it and sent it into the net for the score. ECCC headed to the locker room down two, 3-1. The goal is Wager's sixth of the year as she leads the Lady Warriors in the scoring column.

The Lady Warriors controlled possession for much of the second half and made some strong attacks, but the Lady Indian defense dug in. The Lady Warriors had some great looks on some set pieces, but unfortunately, were just unable to find the goal.

ECCC racked up four corner kicks to the Lady Indians' two while posting nine shots with seven of them ending on goal. Sasha Clare (Belfast, United Kingdom) led the Lady Warriors with four shots and three shots on goal.

The Lady Warriors take on the Belhaven Blazers next Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. in Jackson, before returning to MACCC play as the team travels to Holmes on Friday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m.
