The Lady Warriors of East Central Community College had a tough loss on Monday night, January 31, as the team traveled to Wesson to take on the Co-Lin Lady Wolves. ECCC fell in the contest, 77-45, and dropped to 7-9, 3-6 on the year. Co-Lin improved to 11-7, 5-4 on the year.

The first quarter of action was tight as the Lady Warriors and Lady Wolves traded baskets for nearly seven full minutes. That back-and-forth play was disrupted in the final three minutes of the first frame as the Lady Wolves rattled off an 8-0 run to closing out the first 10 minutes on top, 21-11.

The second quarter saw the Lady Warriors' offensive production of the night as ECCC was outpaced 18-5. The slow frame put Co-Lin in control going into the half, up 39-16.

ECCC came to life in the second half and found much more offensive rhythm on the floor and poured in 18 points in the quarter, but Co-Lin matched the firepower as they netted 26 to keep the commanding lead. East Central did not concede down the stretch and left it on the floor, but it just was not enough as the Lady Wolves ran away with the 77-45 win.

East Central was led by Myeisha Scott (Jackson) who scored 10 points and led the Lady Warriors with five rebounds. Kaedre Denson (Philadelphia) followed with eight points in the contest. Four Lady Wolves scored in double-figures with Aniya Sanders' 18 leading the way. Zykeria Anderson, Tandria Minor, and Madelynn Webster each posted 10-plus as well. The Lady Warriors shot 31 percent from the floor compared to Co-Lin's blistering 49 percent, while posting a 75 percent mark from the free-throw stripe compared to the Lady Wolves 93. ECCC was outrebounded 45 to 22.
