Makaeya Vincent to Lead New Marketing Technology Program

March 19, 2025

East Central Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Makaeya Vincent as its new Marketing Technology instructor, an all-new technical program set to launch in August. An ECCC alumna, Vincent will bring her extensive experience in marketing, recruitment, and digital media to the classroom, where she will help prepare students for careers in marketing technology.

“We are thrilled to have Makaeya join the ECCC family,” said Cody Spence, ECCC’s Director of Career & Technical Education. “Her background in digital media, marketing, and student recruitment will be invaluable as she helps our students develop the skills they need for success in this rapidly growing field. Makaeya’s commitment to student success and her hands-on experience make her the perfect fit for this role.”

Vincent comes to ECCC from William Carey University, where she served as a recruiter and admissions counselor. In this role, she played a key part in increasing applications by nearly 50% and managed social media efforts for the Admissions and Intercultural Studies departments. She also worked as the on-air representative for university news and admissions initiatives and helped produce a wide range of marketing materials.

“I’m excited to return to East Central as an instructor and contribute to the academic success of students in marketing technology,” Vincent said. “ECCC played an important role in my academic journey, and I’m honored to now have the opportunity to serve students and help them pursue their educational and professional goals.”

In her new position, Vincent will teach courses in marketing technology, including digital media, social media management, and marketing strategies. She will also advise students, assist with program development, and participate in extracurricular activities that benefit the College and its community.

A graduate of William Carey University, Vincent holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications with a concentration in Electronic Media and News Production. She earned her associate degree from East Central Community College in 2018 where she was selected in the college’s prestigious Hall of Fame. Vincent has also held leadership roles, including serving as student body president at ECCC and as Miss William Carey University.

More information about the new Marketing Technology program is forthcoming. The program is pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.
