The Warriors of East Central Community College picked a big-time win on Tuesday, May 11, as the team defeated the Holmes Bulldogs, 2-1, in a rainy, road match. The win moves ECCC to 4-6-2 on the year and keeps the Warriors in the playoff hunt. The Warriors wrap up the regular season on Friday, May 14, as the Hinds Eagles travel to Decatur for a 7 p.m. match in Bailey Stadium. The match is a must-win for ECCC to stay in postseason contention. The Warriors also need a Northwest victory over Itawamba to earn the No. 3 seed in the MACCC North Divison.

The Warriors set the tone of the match early as Caleb James (Jackson) found the back of the net just eight minutes into the contest. A score that would until the second half.

ECCC continued the offensive attack for the remainder of the game and got a valuable insurance goal with less than four minutes remaining from DeQuarian Buck (Vicksburg). The goal proved pivotal as the Bulldogs were able to score one in the final minutes, cutting ECCC's lead to 2-1.
