Student recruiters from the University of Southern Mississippi Admissions Office will be on hand when the East Central Community College Warriors and Jones County Junior College Bobcats clash on the football field Thursday, Oct. 6. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. in Bailey Stadium on the Decatur campus.
During pre-game ceremonies, players and coaches from the 2016 Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges State Baseball Champion East Central Warriors will receive their championship rings and the championship banner that will soon hang in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the ECCC campus. The Warriors finished the season with a 38-17 record and ranked No. 10 in the nation.
At halftime, the East Central Wall O’ Sound Band and the Jones County Maroon Typhoon band will both perform.
USM admissions representatives will have tables set up inside Bailey Stadium with information of interest for prospective students. East Central Community College students can visit the USM tables to register for a chance to win a free one-semester transfer tuition scholarship to USM. Details and restrictions are available at the registration table. Entries will only be accepted through halftime of the game.
General admission to the game is $7 per person.
