East Central Community College sophomore basketball players Autumn Taylor of Newton, Jaquan Dotson of Philadelphia, and Thurston McCarty of Quitman were all selected to participate in the annual Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges All-Star Basketball contests.

The doubleheader will be held Friday, April 13, in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium on the ECCC campus in Decatur. The North women and South women will face off at 5 p.m. and the North and South men’s game will follow at 7 p.m.

Admission is $8 for adults and $5 for students.

Taylor, a 5-7 guard who prepped at Newton High School, averaged 10 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and two steals per game this season for the Lady Warriors.

Dotson, a 6-4 guard who prepped at Neshoba Central High School, was second on the team with 14 points per game for the Warriors. He led the team with seven rebounds per game.

McCarty, a 6-7 guard out of Quitman High School, averaged nearly 13 points and five rebounds a game.
