With just two seconds remaining the Warriors elected for a third-down field goal try from 33 yards and Gilliam nailed the try to pull ECCC within a touchdown, 20-13, going into the break.
The third quarter featured early punts for both squads before the Tigers strung together a lengthy 13-play touchdown drive that ate over five and a half minutes off the game clock. With the score, the Tiger lead grew to 27-13.
Midway through the fourth the Tigers scored on a 26-yard toss and catch on a fourth-and-four situation. After the PAT, Northeast led 34-13 with just 6:52 remaining in the game.
The Warriors refused to give in late and manufactured a great drive in the final minutes of play that was set up by a big return from Tavion Evans (Pascagoula). On a fourth-and-goal situation, Larry found Aaron Steele (Collinsville) for a one-yard score to cut the lead to 34-20.
