The Warriors of East Central Community College grabbed their first North Division win on the road in Senatobia as the team took down the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers, 3-2. The Warriors move to 2-9-1 overall on the year and to 1-4 in division play.

The men got off to an even quicker start than the Lady Warriors who scored in the first 37 seconds of the first match of the day. ECCC's Avery Liles (Wiggins) picked up his first goal of the season off a Jashil Vithal (Johannesburg, South Africa) assist at the 27-second mark. Just seven minutes later the Rangers were on the board and tied the game at 1-1, but Noah Shockley(Long Beach) took advantage of a deflection off the crossbar and knocked in his first goal of the year midway through the first half. The goal put the Warriors on top 2-1. Hayden Berray (Gulfport) joined in on the first-goal play as he netted his first goal of the year with just 15 seconds remaining in the half. The goal allowed the Warriors to take a 3-1 lead into the locker room.

The second half was very defensive as the Warriors hung on to their two-goal advantage. Northwest got one goal back with 19 minutes remaining, but the ECCC defense prevented any other goals securing the 3-2 division win.

The Warriors are back in Decatur on Friday, Oct. 15 as ECCC plays host to Itawamba. The match is set for 3 p.m. and will be played at the East Central Soccer Complex on the north end of campus. For those that cannot attend, the match will be live-streamed at www.eccclive.com/gold
