The East Central Community College Warrior soccer team closed out the 2021 season 4-7-2 overall after a strong finish down the stretch. Three Warriors have picked up postseason honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference for their impressive play on the pitch. Jacob Vickers, a defender from Biloxi, and DeQuarian Buck, a freshman forward from Vicksburg, both got First Team honors, while Raphael Salles, a midfielder from San Paulo, Brazil, earned Second Team recognition.

Vickers was the backbone of the Warrior defensive line throughout the season as he represented the team as a team captain. The sophomore also got involved on the offensive end with one goal on the year.

Buck was the Warriors leading offensive player as he poured in a team-best six goals on the season.

Salles was heavily involved on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball as a midfielder. The sophomore scored three goals and posted a team-high four assists on the year.

Though soccer was the last sport to play in the 2020-21 school year, East Central and the MACCC look to be back on track for normal athletic scheduling beginning next school year. That means the Warriors are looking to return to the field in August for the 2021-22 season.
