The Warrior soccer team of East Central Community College dropped the final match of the season to the Hinds Eagles Oct. 29 to close out the year, 2-11-2, 1-6-1.

Hinds came out with a 2-0 victory in the season finale with one goal in both the first and second half. The Warriors posted four shots on goal on the night and spread the ball around well with all shots coming from different players with Jashil Vithal(Johannesburg, South Africa), Dorian Cox (Jackson), Avery Liles (Wiggins), and Joel Bowman (Bay St. Louis) all taking rips at the net. Unfortunately, due to lightning in the area, the match was called off in the 72nd minute.

Though the season did not pan out as the Warriors had hoped, ECCC was very competitive in every match this year and had five matches end in just one-goal differentials to go along with the two ties.

"I'm grateful for this year's team as they built the foundation for the future of this program," said first-year ECCC head coach Ethan Paschal. "The growing pains we experienced this year will be motivation to put in the hard work this offseason. We're going to add a talented freshman class to our group of seasoned sophomores and establish a culture of excellence here at EC."
