The East Central Community College golf team played in the sixth MACCC event of the year on Monday, March 21, as the Warriors made the short trip to Meridian for the Meridian Spring Invitational. The event, held at Northwood Country Club, was slated as a typical two-day, 36-hole tournament, but due to inclement weather in the forecast, players played both rounds on the same day.

The Warriors finished seventh overall in a field of nine teams comprised of MACCC schools. Gulf Coast won the tournament after erasing a three-stroke deficit after the first round and shooting a 284 in the second round for a 581 total. Meridian finished second in their home event with a 591, while Northeast placed third after carding a 612.

Bryce Denley led ECCC with a 156 total after shooting a blistering 74 in the first round and an 82 on the second time through. Denley's strong play placed him tied for 21st as an individual. Gage Miller shot an 87 in the first round and bounced back with a stellar 77 in the second for a 164, while River Maskewposted rounds of 87 and 81 for a 168 total. Davis Pool fired a 171 with rounds of 89 and 82, while Lee Hill was one stroke back at 172 with an 84 and 88. All five of ECCC's golfers finished in the top 43 individually.
