Graduate Assistant Football Coach, Wide Receivers Coach

Tylan Martin was recently selected a graduate assistant football coach at East Central Community College in Decatur, announced head coach Ken Karcher. 

Martin, formerly of Oxford, Ala., serves as wide receivers coach.

Prior to joining the ECCC staff, Martin served as volunteer assistant at the John Grass Football Camp in June 2014, and worked as an assistant football coach at White Plains High School in Anniston, Ala., in the fall of 2013.

Martin is a 2009 graduate of Oxford (Ala.) High School, where he earned an advanced diploma. He twice received All-County honors in football and was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Football Game. He also excelled in varsity basketball and track. In addition, he received Student of the Week honors on two occasions.  

He continued his football career at Jacksonville State (Ala.) University, where he was a standout wide receiver from 2009-11. Martin received a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and wellness at JSU in August 2014. He also minored in coaching.  His parents are Regina and Trenice Martin of Oxford, Ala. He has a brother, Todd, who also resides in Oxford.
