East Central Community College Hosts Surgical Technology Pinning Ceremony

East Central Community College (ECCC) held its annual Surgical Technology Pinning Ceremony on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, celebrating the achievements of the 2024 graduating class. The event, which marked the final milestone for the students, took place at 11 a.m. in the Ovid S. Vickers Auditorium on the ECCC campus. 
 
The ceremony opened with an invocation and remarks delivered by Katilyn McVay, a 2024 Surgical Technology graduate and Surgical Technology class present. Dr. Brent Gregory, President of ECCC, extended a warm welcome to the graduates, their families, and friends. Mr. David Case, Executive Vice President, introduced the Surgical Technology faculty, recognizing their dedication and guidance in preparing the students for successful careers in healthcare. 
 
Dr. Donna Everett, Dean of Healthcare Education, presented the graduates, who were individually pinned by the Surgical Technology faculty as a symbol of their readiness to enter the professional field. The graduates also recited the Nightingale Pledge, affirming their commitment to ethical and compassionate practice. The ceremony concluded with a benediction by graduate class Vice President, Darnell Chesser.
