East Central Community College’s (ECCC) Encore Players is thrilled to announce its upcoming Fall Dinner Theater production of Death by Dessert: A Mystery Comedy in 2 Acts, a hilarious whodunit set to entertain audiences with a perfect mix of mystery, comedy, and a dash of Italian flavor!

The show will be held in Mabry Cafeteria on the ECCC campus in Decatur. Performances are scheduled for Friday, November 8 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 9 at 12 and 7 p.m. and will include a meal with each performance.

Written by Nathan Hartswick, Death by Dessert takes the audience into the heart of Little Italy, where two feuding families—the notorious Pompalones and the fastidious Donnaducis—have been at each other’s throats for decades. When a landlord suddenly turns up dead, everyone in their rival restaurants becomes a suspect. It's a fast-paced comedy full of twists, mistaken identities, and delicious surprises that keep the audience guessing until the very last bite.

The production, led by second-year director Gene Cliburn, promises to be a fun-filled event for families and theater lovers alike.

“This production is perfect for anyone who enjoys a good laugh while trying to solve a lighthearted mystery,” said Cliburn. “Our cast has worked incredibly hard to bring this story to life, and we can’t wait to share it with the community.”

Cast members include Lyss Williamson as Maria; Jacob Winters as Don; Myles Bridges as Nino; Michael Berryhill as Frankie; Max Hodgins as Louis; Jaylan Clay as Busboy; Abbi Baysinger as Donna; Lakyn Pickett as Nina; Posey Palmer as Francie; Laylah Smith as Louise; Zashanti Bender as Busgirl; Layla Love as Nonna; Brian Martinez as Nonno; Kalebri Conrad as Waitress A; Hanna Eubanks as Waitress B; Onyx Anderson as Waiter A; Cheyenne Parker as Waiter B; and Izzy Wolverton as Waitress C.
