Mark your calendars for Thursday, Oct. 10, when East Central Community College will celebrate Homecoming and recognize several outstanding alumni and present a lifetime achievement award on the Decatur campus.
Dr. Lori Rogers Wilcher (’93) of Union, Director of Federal Programs and Special Education at Union Public School District, and Dr. Jamie Satcher (’80) of Mazatlán, MX, retired Professor Emeritus of Counselor Education at the University of Alabama, will be recognized as Alumna and Alumnus of the Year, respectively. Former Diamond Warrior Trampas Amedee (’92) of Gonzales, La., women’s basketball alum Carolyn Boatman Hull (’91) of Silvas, Ill., and former men’s basketball standout Sam Nowell (’69) of Philadelphia are this year’s Athletic Hall of Fame inductees. Forest native and longtime Vice President for Public Information Bubby Johnston who now resides in Quitman will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award.
Special groups to be recognized include the Class of 1974 Golden Anniversary Class and all retired ECCC faculty and staff.

Noon Pep Rally featuring the Wall O’ Sound Band, Cheerleaders, Centralettes, and the Warrior football team –East Mall near Mabry Cafeteria
3 p.m. Reception and Reunions hosted by the ECCC Alumni Association – Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium (Non-ticketed event open to all alumni and friends of the college)
Class of 1974-50th Anniversary Reunion and Reunion of Former ECCC Faculty and Staff
3:30 p.m. Alumni Awards Ceremony-Recognition of Alumni Honorees and Reunion Groups
4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Alumni Association Tailgating – South End Zone of Bailey Stadium (This event is free for current and lifetime members of the Alumni Association and $10 for all other alumni and guests.)
6:30 p.m. ECCC vs. Gulf Coast Football Game – Bailey Stadium
Alumni Honorees will present the game ball and will serve as honorary team captains.
The Homecoming Queen and her court will be presented during halftime followed by the Wall O’ Sound Marching Band which will present its halftime show.
