The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer various classes during the months of January, February and March at various locations throughout the district.

Courses offered in Decatur include:

  • How to Write a Business Plan–Free one-day workshop on Monday, Jan. 23, at the Workforce Development Center and meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This seminar is designed to assist in preparing a business plan and includes topics such as industry research, description of company products and services, identifying target customer groups, writing a marketing plan, startup costs and preparation of a projected cash flow statement. Ronnie Westbrook, director of the college’s Small Business Development Center, will serve as instructor.   • First Steps-The Process of Starting a Small Business­– Free one-day workshop on Monday, Feb. 13, at the Workforce Development Center and meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. This seminar will include the process of what should be done in order to start a small business, such as financial projections, collateral, personal financial statements, business loan application, and other frequently asked questions. Ronnie Westbrook, director of the college’s Small Business Development Center, will serve as instructor.   • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)–Begins Tuesday, Jan. 24, at the Louisville Career Advancement Center and meets from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight consecutive weeks. Cost is $776 per person and includes everything except the TB skin test. Alan Krajewski will serve as instructor.   • Basic Computer Classes-Free classes in keyboarding skills, resume writing, navigating the internet for job searches, online applications, and basic Microsoft Office are currently ongoing and are offered Monday through Wednesday each week at the WIN Job Center.
