The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer numerous classes during the fall semester at various locations throughout the district.

Classes offered at the Carthage Career Advancement Center include:

• OSHA 10 Hour Training–Begins Tuesday, Sept. 13, and meets from 6 to 9 p.m. for six consecutive Tuesdays. Cost is $50 per person. Matthew Shelley will serve as instructor. Course will focus on recognition, avoidance, and prevention of safety and health hazards in general workplaces.

• Residential Wiring­–Begins Wednesday, Sept. 14, and meets from 6 to 9 p.m. for six consecutive Wednesdays. Cost is $75 per person. Blake Warren will serve as instructor. Students will experience the hands-on skills needed to install, service and maintain electrical equipment in residential settings.

• Learning Computer Fundamentals­–Begins Thursday, Sept. 29, and meets from 1 to 3 p.m. for four consecutive Thursdays. Cost is free and Matthew Riley will serve as instructor. Students will learn basic computer skills and will also learn to create and generate documents and send emails.

Classes offered at the Philadelphia/Neshoba Career & Technical Center include:

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)–Begins Monday, Sept. 12, and meets from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for six consecutive weeks. The cost is $766 and includes everything but a TB Skin Test. Instructors are Wendy Cumberland and Niva Alexander. A Workkeys test will be given and participants must have a silver level to attend this class.

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)–Begins Monday, Nov. 7, and meets from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for six consecutive weeks. The cost is $766 and includes everything but a TB Skin Test. Instructors are Wendy Cumberland and Niva Alexander. A Workkeys test will be given and participants must have a silver level to attend this class.

Classes offered on the Decatur campus include:

• Pharmacy Tech–Begins Tuesday, Sept. 13, and meets from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. for 18 consecutive Tuesday nights. Cost is $275 per person and includes a book. John Hunter will serve as instructor. The certification exam from the National Pharmacy Certification Testing Board will cost an extra $129. A Workkeys test will be given and participants must have a silver level to attend this class.

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)–Begins Monday, Sept. 19, and meets from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for six consecutive weeks. The cost is $766 and includes everything but a TB Skin Test.
