The ECCC WALL O' SOUND is composed of around 200 students who represent nearly every major and career field available at ECCC.
All band students receive scholarships for participation in the WALL O' SOUND Marching Band each fall and the Concert/Pep Band in the spring.
The WALL O' SOUND is also home to the Drum Majors, Drum Line and Front Ensemble, Centralettes dance line, Color Guard, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, ECCC Percussion Ensemble and Basketball Pep Band.
Marching Band
Members of the Wall O’ Sound Marching Band receive a full tuition scholarship for the fall semester. The band performs at all home football games and typically travels to one away game each year. The group also marches in select Christmas and other parades. To become a member of the Wall O’ Sound horn line or symphonic band, high school senior band students or transfer students will perform an audition for the ECCC Band Director. The audition will consist of two major scales, chromatic scale, and sight reading. If a high school senior band student participates in the ECCC Band Clinic, the East Central Mississippi Band Directors Association District Band Clinic, or makes the Mississippi Lions All-State Band, he or she will not have to audition. The audition scores will determine chair placement for the fall semester.
Drum Majors
Drum Majors lead the Wall O’ Sound Marching Band during halftime shows and are selected during auditions held each spring. Those selected receive an additional half tuition scholarship for the fall semester.
Drum Line/Front Ensemble
Auditions for the Drum Line and Front Ensemble are held each spring. Drum Line capains receive an additional half tuition scholarship.
Centralettes
The Centralettes perform with the band during the fall semester and they dance at select basketball games during the spring semester. Auditions are held each spring. Members receive a full tuition scholarship each semester.
Color Guard
The Color Guard performs with the band during the fall semester. During the spring semester the group performs during select basketball games and Winter Guard competitions in the area. Members receive a full tuition scholarship each semester. Auditions are held each spring. Guard captains receive an additional half tuition scholarship for the fall semester.
Symphonic Band
Students who participate in the Symphonic Band receive a full tuition scholarship for the spring semester. (See audition requirements under marching band.)
Jazz Band
The Jazz Band performs during the spring semester and partipants receive a half tuition sholarship.
Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensemble performs during the spring semester and partipants receive a half tuition scholarship.
