Two ECCC Lady Warrior Soccer Players Earn Postseason Honors

Forward Macey Spencer and defender Hayden Sullivan, two freshman members of the East Central Community College women’s soccer team, have earned postseason recognition for their play during the recently completed 2018 season.
ECCC to Offer New 16-Week Program in Electrical Utility Lineman

The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer a new 16-week program in Electrical Utility Lineman beginning Feb. 4, 2019, on the Decatur campus.
The new program is designed to prepare students for entry-level employment in the field of utility power transmission and distribution construction, troubleshooting, and repair. It is a non-credit program.
ECCC Concert Choir, Vocé Vocal Ensemble to Present Free Campus Concert Nov. 15

The East Central Community College Concert Choir and Vocé Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of first-year director Lucus Orndorff, will present a free campus concert at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018, in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus.
The choir will present a variety of songs including “The Heavens are Telling” by Haydn, “If Music Be the Food of Love” by David C. Dickau, “Cantate Domino” by Jonathan Rodgers “My Very Own” by Susan LaBarr, “Set Me As a Seal” by René Clausen and “How Good!” by Michael Engelhardt.
ECCC Collegians to Present Fall Campus Concert Nov. 12

The East Central Community College Collegians rock and roll band will present its fall campus concert at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in Huff Auditorium on the Decatur campus. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
ECCC Basketball Teams Open Seasons With Road Wins at Bishop State

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s basketball teams traveled to Mobile, Ala., for their season openers and came home with a couple of big wins over Bishop State Community College Thursday, Nov. 2.
The ECCC Lady Warriors gave new coach LaTaryl Williams his first win as a head coach with a 63-51 victory in the opener. The Warriors followed that with an 84-69 win over the Bishop State Wildcats in the second game.
ECCC SBDC Offers Free Seminar on ‘First Steps-The Process of Starting a Small Business’ Nov. 13

The East Central Community College Small Business Development Center will offer a free seminar on “First Steps-The Process of Starting a Small Business” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, in the Neshoba Business Enterprise Center, located at 1018 Saxton Road, Suite 101, in Philadelphia.
This seminar will include basic steps in starting your own business. Topics will include licenses and permits, legal forms of ownership, basic marketing concepts, lending terminology and outlining a business plan.
