East Central Community College head softball coach Leigh White has announced the hiring of former Lady Warrior standout Mahalia Gibson as assistant softball coach.
The Philadelphia native brings impressive credentials as a player to the Lady Warrior team.

Dr. Brent Gregory’s goal was never to be just a college president. His goal was to be the president of East Central Community College.
On July 1, 2020, the Nanih Waiya native and ECCC alumnus officially achieved that goal as he walked into the Arno Vincent Administration Building on the campus in Decatur as the institution’s ninth president.

The East Central Community College Warriors will open the 2020 football season by hosting five-time national champion East Mississippi Community College Thursday, Sept. 10, in Bailey Stadium on the campus in Decatur. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
The season opener will also mark the debut of the new 12,300 square-foot Warrior Hall football operations center located outside the north end zone of Bailey Stadium.

East Central Community College in Decatur recently announced the awarding of degrees and certificates to 544 students who completed requirements during the 2019-2020 college term.
Included in the total are those who completed degree requirements following the 2020 spring and the 2019 summer and fall terms.
The college’s 91st Commencement ceremony originally scheduled for May 1 at the Neshoba County Coliseum in Philadelphia was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

East Central Community College in Decatur recently announced Mandy Quinn as assistant band director/percussion instructor. She will begin her new duties July 1, 2020, and replaces Zach Langley who was recently promoted to ECCC Director of Bands.

The East Central Community College Board of Trustees this week approved the college’s 2020-2021 budget plan aimed at offsetting a more than $550,000 reduction in state appropriations for the upcoming fiscal year, which begins July 1.
The budget plan, which includes expenditure reductions and revenue increases, was approved at the board’s June meeting held by conference call on June 9.

East Central Community College in Decatur is offering several online classes during its July 2020 Term set to begin July 6. The last day to register for a course is July 7.
The July Term will be online classes only, similar to the college’s Maymester and June 2020 Term courses. Face-to-face on-campus courses will resume with the Fall 2020 Term that begins Aug. 17.
