East Central Community College in Decatur has announced Drum Majors, members of the Centrlattes danceline and Color Guard for the 2020-21 school year. All perform with the Wall O’ Sound Marching Band, and Centralettes and Color Guard perform at basketball games and other special events throughout the year.
Drum majors and their respective high schools include Grace Everett of Neshoba Central, Sydni Goldman of Pelahatchie, Jorian Jackson of Morton, and Luke Wall of Newton County.

The East Central Community College Foundation has awarded Oliphant-Martin Faculty Excellence Fund Grants to two different Healthcare Education programs which will enhance the college’s institutional commitments of Teaching & Learning and Student Success.
The East Central Community College Faculty Excellence Fund, established in 1997, was renamed in 2010 to the Oliphant-Martin Faculty Excellence Fund to acknowledge the generous contributions of alumna Dr. Beverly Henry Oliphant-Martin (’58) and her husband, John Martin.

Students interested in attending East Central Community College for the Fall 2020 Term can begin registering for classes on Monday, April 20, 2020. Registration for ECCC’s Summer 2020 June and July terms and the May Three-Week “Maymester” Term is ongoing.

The Mississippi Community College Foundation has received a grant of $310,000 from the Woodward Hines Education Foundation (WHEF) to help qualifying Mississippi community college students impacted by COVID-19 stay on track towards graduation.
East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur will receive $20,000 of that grant to aid qualifying ECCC students.

Former Ole Miss basketball standout and Rebel assistant coach Rahim Lockhart is the new head men’s basketball coach at East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur.

Longtime, legendary, and beloved East Central Community College English instructor Ovid Vickers of Decatur spent 40 years on the ECCC campus and taught generations of students to love literature and poetry. He died Monday, March 30, at age 89.
