The Mississippi Community College Foundation has received a grant of $310,000 from the Woodward Hines Education Foundation (WHEF) to help qualifying Mississippi community college students impacted by COVID-19 stay on track towards graduation. 

East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur will receive $20,000 of that grant to aid qualifying ECCC students.

Former Ole Miss basketball standout and Rebel assistant coach Rahim Lockhart is the new head men’s basketball coach at East Central Community College (ECCC) in Decatur.

Longtime, legendary, and beloved East Central Community College English instructor Ovid Vickers of Decatur spent 40 years on the ECCC campus and taught generations of students to love literature and poetry. He died Monday, March 30, at age 89.

East Central Community College sophomore outfielder Olivia Houston was today named the MACJC Softball Player of the Week for March 9-15 after an explosive outing at the plate in a sweep over Marion Military Institute (Ala.) March 10 at the Softball Park in Decatur.

Registration is underway for East Central Community College’s high school girls soccer camp to be held May 31 and June 1-2 on ECCC campus in Decatur.

The cost is $250 per camper for those staying overnight in a college residence hall and $200 for non-overnight campers.
