What is believed to be the first East Central Community College tennis team to compete at a national championship, the ECCC men’s tennis team returned to Decatur after reaching its goal of a top 20 finish.

The East Central Community College Board of Trustees has approved the college’s 2019-20 budget plan, which includes no increase in tuition or room and board for the upcoming academic year.
ECCC will hold tuition and room and board steady for the 2019-20 academic terms, while one fee will increase and a new fee for proposed career and technical dual credit courses has been added to the budget.

The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center is offering free courses in Basic Microsoft Excel, Basic Microsoft Word, Basic Computer Skills, Keyboarding, and Resume Writing at the Forest WIN Job Center, located at 536 Deerfield Drive in Forest.
Basic Microsoft Excel is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 3 to 4 p.m. and Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
Basic Microsoft Word is offered Mondays and Wednesdays from 1 to 3 p.m. and Tuesdays from 8 to 10 a.m.

Losses to Northeast and No. 3 Jones College in the 2019 MACJC State Tournament ended the season for the No. 14 ranked East Central Community College Lady Warrior softball team.
East Central surrendered a four-run lead in the last two innings in an opening game 10-8 loss to the Northeast Lady Tigers that ended late in the night on May 8.

The 2019 East Central Community College baseball season came to an end in an NJCAA Region 23 best two-of-three playoff series as the No. 6 ranked Pearl River Wildcats won the third and deciding game 12-4 in seven innings Friday, May 10, in Poplarville.
Pearl River won the opening game of the series 4-3 on May 8. East Central came back to win a 1-0 pitcher’s duel the next morning. The Wildcats then won the clinching game three on May 10 as the two-day series was extended a day due to rain.
