It was all East Central during the 2021 tennis season opener on Tuesday afternoon as the team defeated the Bears from Southwest Mississippi Community College, 9-0. The early win moves ECCC to 1-0 on the year as they look towards their next opponent, Marion Military Insitute, who travels to Decatur this Friday, January 29. Matches start at 11 a.m.

East Central Community College in Decatur is offering a Four-Week Online Term starting in March where students can complete select classes in less than 30 days.

The term begins on Monday, March 15, and ends on Friday, April 9. The last day to register for classes is Monday, March 15.

Classes being offered include Accounting I, The Legal Environment of Business, Career Exploration, and College Study Skills.

It was a tight battle in Poplarville on Monday night as the Lady Warriors went toe-to-toe with the Lady Wildcats of Pearl River in the 2021 season opener. Pearl River escaped Marvin R. White Coliseum with a 63-54 victory after rallying in the second half to get the win.

Pearl River took the season opener for East Central Community College on Monday night as the No. 5 Wildcats left Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium with a 108-63 victory over the Warriors.

East Central Community College tennis has always been a staple of the athletic department during the spring semester. The men's team wrapped up the shortened 2020 season last year 7-5, but with seven wins over the final nine matches, while the women's team finished 8-4, also with seven wins through the final nine.

After an unprecedented 11-month hiatus, the East Central Lady Warriors are finally ready to take to the court for the start of the 2021 season. The team wrapped up last year with a 10-13 overall record, but with six sophomores on the roster for 2021, the team is ready to compete in the always-competitive MACCC.

The Warriors of East Central Community College are finally ready to return to action after a delayed start to the 2021 basketball season due to COVID-19. The Warriors are coming off a 9-14 record that saw seven losses by five or fewer points.

Registration is underway at East Central Community College in Decatur for Spring 2021 Intensive Term II on-campus and online courses.

The last day to register for Spring 2021 Intensive Term II on-campus courses is Thursday, March 4. Classes begin on Wednesday, March 3, and end on May 6.

East Central Community College alumnus and former Warrior student-athlete Lucas Calvert is the college’s new Sports Information Director.

The Louisville native began his new duties on the Decatur campus on Jan. 11.
