ECCC Baseball Team to Host Open Tryout May 7
The East Central Community College baseball team will host an open tryout on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, for players interested in playing for the Warriors next season.
The tryout will be begin at 4 p.m. at the Clark-Gay Baseball Complex on the campus in Decatur.
Players should register in advance at: www.eccc.edu/eccc-baseball-open-tryout-registration.

East Central Community College freshman outfielder Olivia Houston has been voted the Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges Softball Player of the Week for March 18-24.

Family and friends of former East Central Community College student Jesse Ladd of Union have established a scholarship at the college in Ladd’s memory.
The scholarship was approved by the college’s Board of Trustees at its March meeting.
Ladd was killed in an automobile accident in January 2019. At the time, he was a student in ECCC’s Surgical Technology program.

East Central Community College will host a Youth Summer Soccer Camp to be held June 17-20 on the ECCC campus in Decatur.
The Junior Warrior Soccer Camp is for players ages 5-13 and the cost is $80 per player.

The East Central Community College men’s basketball team will hold a tryout beginning at Noon on Saturday, April 6, in Brackeen-Wood Gym on the campus in Decatur.
The tryout is open to players who will graduate from high school in 2019, or have already graduated but have not already played two years of college sports.
The cost is $20 per person, and players should bring their own basketball shoes.

The East Central Community College softball team rebounded from a couple of midweek losses to No. 1 raned Jones College by scoring 31 runs on 36 hits in a doubleheader sweep against the East Mississippi Lady Lions in action Saturday, March 23, at the softball field on the EMCC campus in Scooba.
The Lady Warriors won the opener 21-3 and followed that with a come-from-behind 10-7 win in game two.

East Central Community College President Dr. Billy Stewart will receive the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society’s Shirley B. Gordon Award of Distinction during the society’s annual convention Friday, April 5, in Orlando, Fla.
