East Central Community College is pleased to announce that Tyler Yates has been named the institution’s next Vice President for Business Operations. Yates will assume the role on July 1, 2025, following the retirement of longtime vice president Mickey Vance, who has served the college for over three decades.

ECCC celebrated a major milestone on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, with a groundbreaking ceremony for its new cafeteria. The event was held on the campus in Decatur and was well attended by college leaders, community partners, and public officials.
East Central Community College faculty member Madison Price and student Katie Morrow will be recognized as the college’s 2025 William Winter Scholars at the 36th annual Natchez Literary and Cinema Celebration. The event, hosted by Copiah-Lincoln Community College, will take place March 27-29 at the Natchez Convention Center.
