The East Central Community College Workforce Development Center will offer a Certified Nurse Aide class at the Philadelphia/Neshoba County Career-Technical Center beginning Monday, May 8, 2017.

The class will meet from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday for five  consecutive weeks. Cost is $766 per person and includes everything but the TB Skin Test. Instructors are Wendy Cumberland and Niva Alexander. The WorkKeys test will be given and you must score a Silver level to attend this class.

The class will meet from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays for eight consecutive weeks. Cost is $766 per person and includes everything but the TB Skin Test. The instructor is Alan Krajewski. The WorkKeys test will be given and you must score a Silver level to attend this class.

Registering for fall 2017 classes is among the activities new and transfer students will participate in when East Central Community College holds its first Orientation Session Friday, April 28, on the Decatur campus.

The No. 9 nationally ranked East Central Community College softball team will host a Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges first round state playoff series Friday and Saturday, April 28-29, at the Softball Park in Decatur.

The Lady Diamond Warriors’ opponent and game times will be announced after some teams play their final regular season games on Wednesday.

The No. 9 nationally ranked East Central Community College softball team ended regular season play Friday, April 21, with a couple of run-rule wins over visiting Baton Rouge Community College.

The Lady Diamond Warriors won the first game 11-3 in six innings and then took the second game 12-1 in five innings.

With the wins, East Central improved to 40-6 overall on the season and 23-5 in MACJC league play.

Battling for playoff positioning, the East Central Community College baseball team picked up a crucial doubleheader sweep over Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson on Wednesday, April 19.

East Central overcame an early deficit to win game one 11-9 and then took the nightcap 16-8.

With the wins, East Central improved to 26-12 overall and 12-8 in MACJC league play. More importantly, the Warriors moved into a tie for fifth place in league play with the top nine teams qualifying for post-season play.
