The No. 12 ranked East Central Community College softball team ended its 10-game spring break schedule by splitting a doubleheader against the Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers at the Softball Park in Decatur Sunday, March 19.

The Lady Diamond Warriors lost the first game of the afternoon 6-3, but picked up a 6-2 victory over the Rangers in game two.

With the split, ECCC is now 22-4 overall and 7-3 in MACJC league play.

East Central Community College will auction off several surplus items at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 25, at the Russell Physical Plant Complex on Highway 15 North on the Decatur campus.

Among the items to be auctioned include office furniture, washers and dryers, automobiles, beds, digital cameras, welders, air compressors, drill press, band saw, bench grinder, drafting tables, scrap metal, generators, golf carts, printers, computers, aluminum doors, auditorium seating and much more.

The East Central Community College men’s tennis team moved up five spots to No. 17 in the nation in the most recent Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings released March 16.

The Warriors, under the direction of second year head coach Jay Pacelli, were previously ranked No. 22 in the nation.

The No. 12 nationally ranked East Central Community College Lady Warrior softball team began its 10-game spring break schedule with a pair of doubleheader sweeps March 10 and 11.

The Lady Warriors swept Coahoma Community College in Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges action Friday, March 10, at the Softball Park in Decatur. ECCC won the first game by run rule 16-2 and then took the nightcap 8-1.

The East Central Community College men’s and women’s tennis teams opened the new Tennis Complex on the Decatur campus in style Friday, March 10, with both teams recording wins over visiting Itawamba Community College.

The ECCC women defeated Itawamba 7-2 to improve to 4-4 on the season. The East Central men won 6-3 to improve their record to 5-3.
